Admissions
Overview
Students
applying for the Dual Degree Program must be accepted
for both the Software Engineering and the MBA programs.
The specific requirements and sources of information
are listed below.
Admission
Requirements
Students
considered for admission into the MBA/MS Software Engineering
program have academic degrees and/or industry professional
experience in computer related fields including Computer
Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering,
and Information Systems. Students are expected to have
math and physics background consistent with an Engineering
or Sciences undergraduate degree program. A prospective
student must have degree(s) equivalent to a four-year
U.S. undergraduate Bachelor's degree. Degrees can be
combined to reach equivalency. For example, an applicant
from the Indian educational system might combine a 3-year
bachelors degree with a 2-year master's degree to reach
equivalency.
Prospective
students should have Grade Point Average (GPA) of at
least 2.75 in the last 60 semester units (or 90 quarter
units) of undergraduate courses completed.
As
this is a dual-degree program where a MBA degree is
conferred, a GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test)
is required. The minimum test score is 550 and both
verbal and quantitative scores must be in the 50th percentile
or higher. The GMAT exam is not required for students
that have completed a PhD.
Prospective students applying for admissions must have
an undergraduate degree where the medium of instruction
was English or have passed the TOEFL exam with a score
of 550 (213 computer based, or 80 Internet based) or better.
A GRE score is not required for students with an undergraduate
degree from an ABET accredited university. A GRE score
is not required from other universities at this time
but is strongly recommended. Admissions is competitive
and a GRE score can boost a student's chances of admission.
Academic and professional references are not required.
Deadlines
Applications are now being accepted for Cohort 12. The
deadline for admissions is July 31 , 2007.
